NEW YOU
FOLLOW GOD'S PLAN FOR NO FINANCIAL STRESS
DAY ONE
Congratulations! I am proud of you!
You’ve taken a HUGE step of faith by diving into this new journey.
Jesus taught that EVERY FINANCIAL DECISION is REALLY a SPIRITUAL DECISION:
IT’S ALL ABOUT YOUR HEART
Every swipe of your bank card, every click on Amazon… it all reveals your heart.
That’s why Jesus taught more about money than heaven and hell combined.
Jesus Christ understands that our BANK ACCOUNT will ALWAYS COMPETE for the AFFECTIONS of our HEART.
Jesus doesn’t want your money, He wants your heart.
So let’s start this journey together.
Every day I want you to imagine that I’m right here beside you, cheering you on.
I believe in you.
I believe you can make BETTER DECISIONS and have FEWER REGRETS.
LET’S DO THIS
My heartbeat in creating this online devo is this:
I believe that Christ Followers should be the most generous people on earth simply because our hearts are overflowing with gratitude to God.
Jesus changed everything in my life: my eternal destiny, my purpose on earth, how I relate to my loved ones, everything.
YOU CAN’T OUTGIVE GOD
We can’t experience the newness of life that Christ wants for us if we’re still stuck in our old bad habits.
This includes bad habits like going into credit card debt, not having a written plan for our finances, and spending money on stuff we don’t need with money we don’t have to impress people we don’t know!
WISE UP
The ability to wisely manage wealth and material possessions is not a talent given when you’re born. It is a skill to be learned.
Proverbs 4:7 says to “get wisdom!”
That’s what we’re going to do on this journey together.
START AT THE BEGINNING
God made Adam and Eve (and their descendants… us!) managers of the entire earth.
He left it in their care to “tend and keep” (Genesis 2:15) and gave them instructions to maximize its potential:
IT’S ALL GOD’S STUFF
In a similar way, God entrusts many things to each of us. As the Creator of everything, including us, it all belongs to Him.
Yet God leaves in our care assets such as time, talents, relationships, and yes, wealth.
Handling these precious assets prudently qualifies us for blessing and for the privilege of being entrusted with more.
Just look at the parables Jesus would teach to His followers: many of Jesus’ teachings revolved around money managers, both good and bad.
As you step out in faith and obedience to become a more biblical manager of what God has entrusted to you, He will run to meet you and help you!
REFLECT
Every day I want you to get out a journal or Moleskin and handwrite answers to these reflection questions.
Seriously, don’t skip over this.
Writing stuff down on paper gets it out of your system and helps build your faith that change can come into your life!
1) What made you want to start this new journey?
2) What are the Top 3 things stressing you out right now? Which of those items are connected to your personal finances?
3) What does Jesus say about our personal finances in Matthew 6?
4) Can you have a fresh start with finances (see 2 Corinthians 5:7)?
5) By the end of this journey together, what are 3 ways you want your personal finances to look different?
Congratulations! I am proud of you!

Jesus taught that EVERY FINANCIAL DECISION is REALLY a SPIRITUAL DECISION:
“For your heart will always pursue what you value as your treasure.
If your heart is unclouded, the light floods in!
But if your eyes are focused on money, the light cannot penetrate and darkness takes its place.”
— Jesus in Matthew 6 (TPT)
